The Rustenburg CBD looks calm this morning following chaotic scenes yesterday. Passengers were left stranded after taxi operators went on a rampage hunting alleged drug addicts known as Nyaope Boys. Commuters were left stranded and many had to walk home as cars were not allowed in and outside the CBD. This morning, municipal employees, traffic officials and the police were seen cleaning the streets as traffic flows normal. North West police spokesperson, Brigadier Sabata Mokgoabone said the situation is calm this morning and two people who were taken for questioning yesterday were released. Mokgoabane said police are not linking yesterday’s chaotic scenes with the murder that happened in Boitekong over the weekend. But he appealed to community members who have any information to contact local authorities.
