Morena wa Maboloka shot in Letlhabile

Morena Emmanuel Lion of Bataung Ba Hlalele in Maboloka is recovering in hospital after he was shot on Saturday night.
According to North West police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Pelonomi Makau,
Lion ( 41) was in Letlhabile, parked a car ( white Golf 7) and was chatting with one person  when they were approached by three armed men ( all armed). One pointed a firearm at the person who was with Lion and the person  managed to escape.
“They then opened the drivers seat and shot him on both legs. They drove with Lion, and his car was recovered today  – Sunday – in Winterveld ( Slovo informal settlement) through tracker”.
“He was found in Soshanguve and was taken  to Garankuwa hospital How he got there is not known. H The motive of this is unknown at this stage but they have registered a case of carjacking, kidnapping and attempted murder,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Makau. Lion made headlines recently when he was caught in a battle for the chieftaincy.

After the death of Chief David Mohau Lion in 2008, David Tsajoa approached the Commission for Traditional Disputes and Claims for chieftaincy away from the Lion family. The commission determined that the rightful leader of Maboloka was David Tsajoa, whose father Philemon was reportedly deposed for antagonizing the repressive Lucas Mangope regime. The commission recommended that the North West Premier remove the Lion clan from leadership and install the Tsajoas in their place. But the Lion took the matter to court and were reinstated.

The Lion family took the matter under review and was reinstated but subsequent to this a series of court cases were lodged
