Rustenburg’s safe and clean taken to schools
The Rustenburg Local Municipality in collaboration with SAPS and Royal Bafokeng Reaction Force vowed to continue conducting unannounced search at various schools in and around Rustenburg. This week, Rauwane Sepeng High School in Tlhabane was visited and various illegal items were confiscate.
Municipal spokesperson, Andrew Seome said the aim of executing these operations is to rid schools of drugs and alcohol, and creating a conducive environment for learning and teaching; creating a society free of substance and alcohol abuse which is the main cause of violent and criminal activities taking place in our society.
“The operation is coupled with issuing of shoes, sanitary towels, school bags and other necessary items to pupils coming from needy families, (Donated by Sibanye Stillwater Mine) as one of the initiatives by the Executive Mayor of Rustenburg Cllr Mpho Khunou,” said Seome. .
