A memorial service for the renowned North West boxer, Norman “Pangaman” Sekgapane is scheduled for Thursday, 12 April 2018 and the funeral service on Saturday, 14 April 2018 at Makgokoane near Ramatlabama. Sekgapane passed away on Wednesday April 4, at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Soweto, after a long illness.
His son Thabo Sekgapane described his father as a humble and soft-spoken man with good fighting technics. “He approached his craft with dignity and made his statements with his fists. Even to this day, from the corners of Cape Town to East London, Durban and Johannesburg, any boxing enthusiast worth his or her salt knows about the memorable battles that this man fought on the ring. Who will forget his epic fights against seasoned warriors such as Anthony “Blue Jaguar” Morodi, Peter “Black Eagle” Tshabalala and Nkosana “Happy Boy” Mgxaji” said Sekgapane.
