Antony Hamilton’s R5m Mmabatho performance not from tax payers – MEC
He is one of the top US based artist at the moment and he is coming to the North West province. Antony Hamilton will be in the province next month. But this heart sizzling performer is not coming cheap. North West News Online was reliably informed that he was paid R5 million to come and perform at the extraordinary Mahika Mahikeng. We asked MEC for Culture Arts and Traditional Affairs, Ontlametse Mochware to confirm the figure but she was reluctant to give an answer. After numerious attempts to get an answer from the MEC at Mahika Mahikeng Media Launch last week, she finally gave a diplomatic answer. Mochware said they appointed a service provider to run the show and it was the service provider who decided on Hamilton. “We are not running this show. We have a service provider who is doing that. We mandated them to raise funds and bring top perfomers. This is good for the North West province. Anthony Hamilton will put our province on an international map. This is good for tourism,” said Mochware.
