The 11th Annual Provincial Extension and Advisory Service Conference is underway in Potchefstroom College.

According to Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development Departmental spokesperson, Emelda Setlhako said the 11th conference will discuss amongst others, better ways of utilizing the extension and advisory services as a resource to achieve the sector’s specific national development initiatives as envisaged in the Agricultural Policy Action Plan (APAP), and National Development Plan as well as other programmes in the sector.

She said the Extension Recovery Plan (ERP) is aimed at addressing the gaps identified in agricultural extension services and which will ultimately assist the province to meaningfully contribute towards achieving the 2030 National Development Plan targets.

“The Extension conference falls under pillar two which aims to promote professionalism and improving image of extension, the annual conference is there to improve the effectiveness and efficiency the effectiveness of Agricultural Extension and Advisory in line with departmental values, strategy and provincial priorities,” Setlhako.
