Rustenburg Shutdown – Tomorrow

If you are using taxis to go to work or school – then start arranging alternative transport. Tomorrow taxis in and around Rustenburg will be on strike.

The Bojanala1 Regional Taxi Council will lead a march where a memorandum to be handed over to the Municipality regarding issues related to their operations.

The following routes will be affected:

The taxis will gather near the Municipal’s waste department on the open space, along Bethlehem Drive. The convoy will drive on Bethlehem Drive and turn left to join Von Wielligh Street up to Dr Beyers Naude Drive.

The following streets/intersections will be affected during this period of the march:

Klopper & Von Wielligh Streets

Leyds & Von Wielligh Streets

President Mbeki Drive & Von Wielligh Street

Kruger & Von Wielligh Streets

Kerk & Von Wielligh Streets

Joubert & Von Welligh Streets

The convoy, will turn left on Dr Beyers Naude Drive to head to Missionary Mpheni House. The parking in front of the M.O.T.H Hall (adjacent to ABSA, next to Nelson Mandela Drive) will be strictly cordoned off and reserved for taxis on the day, until the end of the March. The park between Boom and Joubert Streets will serve as an over-flow parking areas for taxis during the march, to reduce traffic backlog in the area during peak hour traffic. The march is expected to commence at 08:00 AM and conclude by 13:00 PM.
