What is believed to be a burglary gone wrong left a mother and daughter dead at Lesetlhaneng Section in Hebron between Mabopane and Ga-Rankuwa.
The Police were called for what looked like a burglary where a plasma television, DVD Player and cell phones were stolen on Saturday (January 11, 2020) early evening. In total they are all worth around R25 000.00.
The police then found an elderly woman (68) lying in a pool of blood. Her 34-year-old daughter was found in a bathtub with feet and hands tied up.
The Emergency Medical and Rescue Services (EMRS) were called and certified both women dead.
The MEC for the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari said criminality is at a level where all in society must rise up to. “The murder of a mother and daughter is really sickening. As a nation we must really put a stop to this criminality,” said Lehari.
Lehari has also appealed to the community to remain calm and desist from taking matters into their own hand but rather work with the police to apprehend perpetrators of this heinous crime.
The MEC conveyed condolences to the family.
