School principals across the North West Province must know more about the killer virus – Covid-19. Many school principals reported for duty yesterday and schools will reopen to phase in Grade 7 and Grade 12 learners next Monday. North West MEC for Education Mmaphefo Matsemela attended the Mahikeng Sub-District training session of principals on COVID-19 which was held in Ngaka Modiri Molema at Mahikeng Primary School. The training session was attended by school principals of Mahikeng Sub-District. Matsemela said principals must know more about Covid-19.

“The purpose of the training was to empower principals with knowledge on how to guide teachers and learners on COVID-19,” said Matsemela.

Today – MEC Matsemela extends her school monitoring to Rustenburg to confirm state of readiness for schools reopening in Bojanala district as well as to receive a pledge by Impala Platinum Mine of deep cleaning 33 schools in the district.
She will also visit Platinum village secondary school. The school will be presenting it’s first Grade 12 this year since the school was handed over in 2017. Matsemela’s monitoring follows one she conducted in Mafikeng,  Ngaka Modiri Molema District on Monday.
