North West Reaches 10 000 Coronavirus positive cases as another MEC tests positive

Another MEC in the North West tested positive for Covid-19. MEC for the Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation, Virginia Tlhapi is the latest top leader in the province to test positive for Covid-19. Another leader who tested positive is the Mayor of Mamusa Local Municipality, Doctor Batsi. Cogta, MEC Gordon Kegakilwe was buried last week after he succumbed to Covid-19 related illness. The Premeir, Professor Job Mokgoro has been quarantined in Gauteng after he also tested positive for Covid-19. Today – 14 July 2020, North West stands at 10525 possive cases.

“The African National Congress in the North West has noted with concern, the news that its deployees, the MEC for Culture, Arts, Sports and Recreation, Cde. Virginia Tlhapi and the Mayor of Mamusa, Cde. Doctor Batsi have tested positive for Covid-19. “We wish them strength in their continued fight against this vicious virus. These comrades have put their own lives at risk in their relentless fight against Covid-19,” said ANC spokesperson in the North West, Kenny Morolong.
