Nehawu’s Toffies Moremi has died

The novel coronal virus has no mercy. The poor die and so do the rich. While the virus continues to wreak havoc in the province it is also infiltrating the political sphere. This comes as trade union Nehawu’s provincial Deputy Secretary Toffies Moemi has become yet another victim of COVID-19. Moemi passed away yesterday after he had tested positive. His death brings to 48 the number of deaths due to the virus that has the world at its mercy. The late MEC for the department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs in the North West was buried last week after succumbing to COVID-19.


Meanwhile the staff at the office of the premier may have dodged a bullet. The staff, who provide critical support to keep the office of the premier functional had come in contact with North West Premier Job Mokgoro who had tested positive two weeks ago. “I wish to advise all of them to continue to follow medical advice and adhere to protocols by remaining in quarantine for the full 14 days as recommended by health practitioners,” Mokgoro said.

The North West stands at 11 225 cases with 2 694 recoveries.
