The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) is investigating the death a police constable Thato Makhoana, whose lifeless body was found in Klippan, outside Mahikeng with what happens to be a gunshot.
According to SAPS, Makhoana who was stationed in Mmabatho, was on his way to visit his sister in Zeerust on Wednesday morning. A missing person enquiry was registered at Mahikeng police station after he failed to either arrive in Zeerust or answer his cell phone. The victim’s vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was later found torched at Majemantsho village in the policing precinct of Lomanyaneng.


The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena has condemned the callous killing of the constable and has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family.
The Provincial Commissioner has mobilised a 72-hour Activation Plan to ensure that perpetrators are brought to book.
