Two people are expected to appear in the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrate Court on Friday following a swift drug bust by Vryburg K9 Unit.

As part of an ongoing effort to safeguard communities from drugs, a crime intelligence driven operation by Vryburg K9 Unit on Wednesday, 14 October 2020, resulted in the arrest of a male and female suspects aged 33 and 22 for possession and dealing in drugs.

The arrest came after Vryburg K9 Unit, in operationalising information received, obtained and executed a search warrant at a house in Schweizer-Reneke. During the operation, 219 Kat tablets and 12 small plastic packets containing Chrystal Meth with an estimated street value of R35 000.00 were confiscated together with R52 000.00 cash.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, commended all members involved in the operation for bringing to book the alleged peddlers.  He pointed out that drug trafficking is a real challenge that often leads to other serious crimes.
