Life will never be the same for scores of Mogwase Informal Traders in the Moses Kotane Local Municipality. On Thursday, the municipality in partnership with the Department of Small Business Development handed over equipment to support as well as to assist local informal traders around Mogwase.
Deputy Minister of Small Businesses Development, Rosemary Nokuzola Capa through Informal Micro Enterprise Programme empowered local traders with various equipment including deep freezers, refrigerators and sewing machines.
Capa said they will continue to partner with local municipalities to support the local informal traders
“Through Government support these businesses will be able to compete with other businesses in the market. Our aim is to develop informal traders, assist them to register their businesses and operate formally,” said Capa.
Moses Kotane Local Municipality Mayor, Ralesole Diale, urged the Deputy Minister to work close with the Municipality to utalize unused factories around Mogwase.
One of the Local Traders who received equipment today, Mpho Moeketsi, thanked authorities for the major boost. “I have heard various speakers today encouraging us to take this equipment use it correctly to advance our businesses. We will definitely do that,” said Moeketsi.
