The Rustenburg Local Municipality’s Fire and Emergency Disaster Management responded to a distress call at a house on Byron Street in Rustenburg North. According to the spokesperson, David Magae while the City’s Fire-fighters were able to put off the fire, the house had been engulfed in the fire rapidly, to the extent that all of the contents in the dwelling were destroyed by the fire. “The cause of the fire is not yet known as investigations are still underway to determine the exact cause. The City’s donated blankets and mattresses as an immediate intervention to the affected family. The family opted to seek refuge with family and relatives and the RLM will be working closely with the family in rebuilding their life, after the tragic incident.
