The Royal Bafokeng Nation is mourning today. This comes after the untimely death of the one respected administrator, Eric Nkele. In statement, the Royal Bafokeng Administration said Nkele died from Covid-19 related complications.

“It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of a long-serving and respected senior member of the Royal Bafokeng Administration, Rre Eric Nkele, from COVID-19 related complications today at the age of 54. Rre Eric, at the time of becoming ill, was the Secretary of Council for the Royal Bafokeng Administration. He was a very reliable, committed and dedicated individual who went beyond the call of duty. He modernised Council procedures and operations by ensuring that operational protocols were drafted and implemented. His contributions professionally and to soccer in our community and region were much appreciated, and he will be sorely missed. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere condolences to Rre Eric’s family, colleagues and friends. Funeral arrangements, curtailed in terms of the requirements of the current Level 4 lockdown, will be advised later,” read the statement.
