Skate and BMX fanatics are descending to Sun City this weekend as the Northern Cape Tourism Authority unleash skateboarding activation in the North West.
Sun City hosts the Kimberly Diamond Cup Grand Slam this weekend with a first multi-discipline extreme sports festival of the new season.
South Africa’s best BMX riders will gather with the nations Skateboarding Olympians and other skateboarding legends at one of the finest venues on the African continent.
It has been a tremendous year for skateboarding in SA, with two riders from the KDC team, heading to the Olympics in Tokyo last month.
Boipelo Awuah and Brandon Valjalo will be at Sun City for this weekend’s Grand Slam event.
The Northern Cape has established itself as a major player in extreme sport execution, with this Action Sports Festival part of the build-up to the main event at the Kimberley Skate Plaza in December later this year.
