Taxi and bus operators in Letlhabile told the Executive Mayor of Madibeng Local Municipality, Douglas Maimane to fix the potholes as a matter of extreme urgency. The operators were raising their concerns during an engagement meeting with the Executive Mayor on Monday – 10 January 2021. The engagement was part of the Executive Mayor’s 100 Days Programme.
The Executive Mayor was accompanied by Members of the Mayoral Committee, Speaker of Council, Ditshego Mbezi and the Chairperson of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee ( MPAC ) Sechaba Sekhoto.
The delegates further suggested solutions that the municipality could implement as temporary measures in the short term and what could work as permanent solutions.
The Executive Mayor acknowledged all concerns raised and made a commitment that they shall receive the necessary attention and that the municipality will continue to engage with regularly with the sector to find lasting solutions to the problems.
A commitment was further made that the issue of potholes must be attended soonest during this week.
The Executive Mayor and his entourage will continue engage with different stakeholders in Letlhabile this week and conclude with a Cluster Imbizo on Saturday at Sports Grounds, Zone 2.
